| Randy Myers - Senior Pastor |
 |
Pastor Randy was born in Canada in a small town called Rosthern in the Province of Saskatchewan. His father was a pastor in the Evangelical United Brethren Church. When Randy was the age of 2, his father was transferred to Medicine Hat, Alberta. Randy was saved at the age of 8 at the altar of his home church, while attending Hillcrest Evangelical Church. Randy struggled with God's call to the ministry. It was in college that Randy fully committed his life to the Lord and began preparing for the ministry.
Pastor Randy graduated from Hillcrest Christian College (now Rocky Mountain Bible College in Calgary, Alberta) in 1979 majoring in Christian Education. During his last year of college he worked as a Minister of Music at South View Church of God. After graduation he pastored for 2 years in Yakima, Washington as an Associate Pastor. Then, Randy attended Western Evangelical Seminary (now George Fox Graduate School of Theology) in Portland, Oregon. During seminary he worked as a Youth Pastor and then as Assistant Pastor at Tremont Evangelical Church. He earned a Masters of Divinity at Western Evangelical Seminary.
On May 17,1984 Pastor Randy, along with his wife, Linda, and son Aaron, moved to Bend to assume the pastoral leadership at New Hope Evangelical Church. Son Nicholas was added to the family. Pastor Randy and Linda have served at New Hope for 25 years now and have seen God bless the church with growth. They are now beginning a new phase in their lives - "empty-nesters." Their son Aaron recently graduated from Azusa Pacific University and is now working with the Deschutes county sheriff’s department while Nic is attending Oregon State University and currently studying overseas. |
