 Valerie was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas. She attended Bethany College, in Lindsborg, Kansas where she met her husband Jim. They married in 1980 and both taught school and coached athletics. They were blessed with two children, Joshua and Rebekah, and moved to Bend in 1990.
Valerie began working at New Hope shortly after they moved to Bend and has seen first hand the exciting growth (surviving three building campaigns!) that has taken place. She enjoys the challenge of keeping the office running smoothly and feels blessed to work with such an awesome staff and congregation.
Both Whitcomb children married in the summer of 2010, so Jim and Valerie were thrilled to add a new son and daughter to the family. Val enjoys photography, gardening, and reading, as well as spending time at Starbucks with her husband. Val also find being a mentor with the COPY program through the Sheriff's Office very fun and rewarding. |
